Rock Creek Outfitters, LLC offers the following options for hunting during the current hunting season. Robert E. Thompson is a bonded and licensed outfitter, with license #1601.

1. Muzzleloader Hunt
This hunt is a new addition to our hunting options. Because our “sanctuary” is a major rutting area for the local elk, we have decided to take a limited number of black powder hunters (4). This hunt will be an exceptional hunt as you will be in the midst of an elk herd in concealed tree stands during the rut. We anticipate the hunt will be our most exciting and successful hunt. This is a 5-day guided hunt with lodging and meals provided. Muzzle load season is a draw and hunters must apply with the Colorado DOW before April 1st. As our area is allotted a large number of tags, most hunters will draw. This premium hunt will cost $2800.00.

2. First Season Premier Elk Rifle Hunt
In the past years this has been our most successful season with a 100% rate for some years. This is our most popular hunt with most of our clients being repeat hunters. We are booked two years ahead, but you can put your name on a waiting list for any cancellations. This is a 5-day guided hunt (3 hunters per guide), from stands on our private 2257-acre ranch. All meals and lodging are furnished in our large hunting lodge. This is a private land hunt exclusive to our clients. First season is a draw and requires application to the DOW before April 1st. The charge for this hunt is $2800.00.

3. Second, Third, Fourth Season Elk Rifle Hunt
This is a 5-day guided hunt (2 or 3 hunters per guide). The hunts are on our private ranch with all meals and lodging furnished as in first season. Licenses for these hunts are sold over the counter at sports stores and Wal-Mart. These hunts have not averaged as high as first season, but are quality hunts with 35% kill. The price remains at $2300.00.

4. Combined Elk and Deer Hunt
This is the same as #3 except the hunter has two animals to hunt: deer and elk. The deer tag is a draw and must be applied for before April 1st. The cost of this hunt is $3100.00.

5. Economical Do-It-Yourself Public Land Hunt
A 5-day group hunt with a set fee for 1-2, 3-4, or 5-6 hunters. We provide some advice and show you the best hunting areas. Lodging is in remodeled bunkhouse cabins located on the Thompson Ranch, near public lands and national forest to the south and the west. The cabins are modernized with a toilet, shower, 2 heaters and 2 sinks, hot and cold water, full kitchen. There are 3 bunk beds to sleep six (hunters provide sleeping bags and supplies).

    Black Powder & First Elk Rifle Season
        1-2 hunters $1200.00
        3-4 hunters $1500.00
        5-6 hunters $1800.00
    Second, Third, Fourth Elk Seasons
        1-2 hunters $1100.00
        3-4 hunters $1400.00
        5-6 hunters $1700.00

6. Deer Hunt
This is the same as #3 above except you only hunt deer. The cost will be $1900.00 and the hunter must apply for and draw a deer tag. You will need to apply prior to April 1st.

Special Note:
Hunters wanting to hunt during Muzzle Loading (Black Powder), First Season Elk and all Deer seasons must draw a tag because these are limited license hunts. We are located in Unit 17.
